A one-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom unit above it on the top two floors of a Park Slope brownstone mansion-turned-co-op building were combined to make a spacious duplex apartment for a family of four. A large internal stair was constructed where the lower kitchen had been, leading up to three bedrooms, expanded bathroom and multiple closets on the top floor. The lower floor has a new kitchen opening to the living room. The large dining room is located in an airy new glass-enclosed extension with doors opening out to a “terrace in the sky”, surrounded by trees.
