An existing 4 story office building was upgraded to make it more economically competitive. A new atrium lobby was created by replacing an existing inward slanted curtain wall with a new vertical steel frame structure and inset aluminum and glass panels. The new grid is the focus of the design, with its module reflected in the plan of the new exterior plaza and lobby floor pattern. All of the interior elevator lobbies were renovated and the battleship gray building was re-painted white using state of the art coating systems. The entrance vestibule, designed as a free-standing cube, penetrates the curtain wall at the center bay on the ground floor. Major materials include painted steel, french limestone, jet-mist granite and “Quarrycast” stone-like wall paneling.
