Project Details

This large, deep Brooklyn brownstone row house with a two-story extension was a two-family residence. The owners decided to take over the whole building, moving master bedroom and bath to the second floor and freeing the grand parlor floor for entertaining. A bar was built along the wall of the middle room and the floor of the extension was removed, leaving a dramatic walkway to an exterior balcony overlooking a lush yard. On the second floor the existing kitchen was reconfigured into a master bath with a large steam shower. By bumping out the rear of the room a soaking tub was accommodated with treetop views through the new bay window. A kitchenette was added between the bedroom and the study, along with walk-in closets. The top floor became a new guest suite.
