This Brooklyn brownstone on a landmarked block was reconfigured as an owner’s triplex with a garden rental apartment. The clients, an accomplished cook and baker, wanted a true chef’s kitchen, where both could pursue their avocations. The parlor floor was redesigned with a formal entrance leading into an enfilade of living room, dining room and kitchen. The new kitchen is housed in an airy new extension with a spacious serving island separating it from the dining room. The open plan of the parlor floor allows both east and west light to fill the entire floor. The extension provides a sunny terrace off the study above. The second floor has a home office and guest rooms. A new master suite occupies the top floor.
